Györ Györ, which is the capital of West-Hungary, is a traditional industrial and trading town with about 140.000 inhabitants. The triangle Vienna Györ Budapest is a trade center of western standard. In an extensive study of east European regions the research institute "Empirica" in Bonn found out that Györ is the no.1 location for future investments. AUDI for example chose the region of Györ out of 180 places world wide for a new engine factory. A further 3 billion DM were invested there for the production of the Audi TT and the new five-valves-engine-generation. An additional expansion of about 2,5 billion DM has been decided for production facilities, research and development. As the infra-structure is in the initial stages the country is a very good place for trading and service industries. More and more companies, which are known all over the world, open branches in Györ. The purchasing power in Györ has already reached the same level as in Budapest and will - according to prognosises - exceed it soon. |
